About University
Founded in November 1934, Vitebsk State Medical University is one of the leading medical universities in Belarus. Currently, it operates 32 theoretical and clinical departments. Since 1981, the university has been offering programs for international students in Preliminary Training, Medical, and Pharmaceutical Faculties. Foreign students began showing interest in VSMU from 1997, drawn by its high-quality teaching methods. The university is well-regarded for producing physicians who contribute to public health in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. VSMU was honored with the Medal of Peoples Friendship by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.
The university campus includes 6 academic buildings, 15 clinical sites, 7 hostels, 3 canteens, a sports ground, a stadium, a health and fitness center, and various other student amenities.
