About University
The Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy, commonly referred to as Tbilisi Medical Academy, was established in 1992 by the esteemed Georgian physician and pediatric surgeon Petre Shotadze. Following his passing in 1999, the academy was named in his honor. It is among the oldest private institutions for higher medical education in Georgia and is recognized as a leading self-governing institution, successfully managed by a highly qualified faculty.
The university is acknowledged by major global organizations, including the Association of Medical Education in Europe (AMEE), the European Medical Students Association (EMSA), the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER), the Medical Council of India (MCI), and the World Health Organization (WHO).
