Why Learn Russian?
Russian is one of the three major languages of the world, together with English and Chinese, spoken by 280 million people. Russian is the language used to publish more than 25% of the scientific publications worldwide. Studying Russian became more and more important after the Cold War ended since Russia was now open to foreign banks, corporations, media, entertainment, and culture. Every year, hundreds of Russians come to visit and do business in the US, and thousands more have moved here permanently. Russia is still a major player in world affairs, and past experience indicates that there is an increasing need for foreign professionals who speak Russian.
Even while it might seem like there are fewer reasons to study Russian now that the Soviet Union has collapsed, the nation is still rich in literature, theater, music, and culture. Furthermore, English remains the primary means of communication with the former Soviet countries, at least until their native tongues become more widely used in this nation.

All of the courses combine a comprehensive and methodical grammatical approach with the study of popular terms used in everyday settings. They are based on communicative approaches. Learning a language like Russian, which has an inflectional system and an arbitrary word order—a language whose meaning is determined by word endings or word placement—requires mastery of this.

We offer group lessons in Russian at six levels year-round (beginning to intermediate), with the addition of upper-intermediate and advanced classes during the busy summer months. We have modified the European Language Portfolio architecture for compatibility considerations. The average number of lessons needed to finish each level is determined on our experience with students who have attended our program. Enrolling in a one-on-one course will allow students to advance through the levels faster.
